Efforts to Increase Production

Fertilizer is one of the important elements in helping the coffee plant growth process, because fertilizer contains various nutrients that function to restore soil fertility, provide nutrients for plant needs as a support for increasing crop yields.

Many farmers who use fertilizer to meet the nutritional needs of their coffee plants sometimes fertilize not based on the right time and dose when fertilizing. This is because when the fertilization time arrives, sometimes the fertilizer used is not available and difficult to obtain, and even when available, the method and dosage of fertilization are sometimes not quite right, so the fertilization carried out is inefficient and not significant for the fertilizer given with the amount needed by the plant.

Seeing these conditions, We are present to provide solutions to farmers for effective and efficient fertilizer use in several areas in South OKU, South Sumatra, namely Muara Dua Kisam, Kisam Ilir and Pulau Beringin Districts. Although the amount is still limited, we believe that what we are doing can help and provide guidance to farmers about proper and correct fertilization methods, in other words, right time and right dose so that it can reduce production costs.

This fertilizer application is carried out 6 times, adjusting to the coffee stages that are taking place, from before pruning to stimulate shoots, the flushing phase, the phase of turning flowers into fruitlets, the fruit enlargement phase, the fruit filling phase, to the branch formation phase for the following season. The fertilizer we provide to farmers is high-quality fertilizer as a support for increasing coffee production. The fertilizer dosage is formulated by our professional team by considering environmental factors and soil conditions. We also adopt a sustainable farming system by providing organic materials as a complement to the fertilizer. The fertilizer we provide is applied by spraying, with a recommended dosage of about 8 kg of solid fertilizer and 2 liters of liquid fertilizer for 400 liters of water in 1 ha of land for each application. With a time interval of about 2 months for each application. Our fertilizer is also based on the phase/condition of the coffee plant (post-harvest, flowering, pinhead, immature and mature). This can significantly ease the burden on farmers regarding the increasingly expensive and difficult-to-obtain fertilizer needs.

The fertilizer we provide is a complete fertilizer (Micro and Macro) with organic chemical ingredients. This fertilizer has been given to farmers in the South OKU area (Kisam Ilir, Muara Dua Kisam and Pulau Beringin). Until now, the farmers who have implemented our fertilizer number 50 farmers as a demplot sample for fertilizer application. Based on the results of the applications that have been carried out, farmers are very satisfied with the impact of the fertilizer application. According to farmers, plants sprayed with this fertilizer have a quite significant impact, such as greener leaves, stronger branches, fruit that does not fall easily, heavier beans, and more abundant coffee fruit. In addition, the application of this fertilizer can also reduce farmers' dependence on excessive chemicals, especially on coffee cultivation land. Based on these results, we continue to be committed to developing better fertilizers and helping to increase coffee production for farmers, especially in the areas where we operate.
